Thesis in Motion offers you a guide, tips and blogs to assist you to prepare your thesis. It is intended for doctoral candidates in the Social Sciences and Humanities at all stages in the development of their theses, from developing a proposal to defending the final version. It takes a Canadian perspective, based on the thesis completion requirements of Canadian universities. The guide is however largely a universal set of principles, hints and strategies for developing a doctoral thesis. The same principles also apply to preparing a Masters thesis, although the requirements for presenting and defending a thesis at the Master’s level may differ from one university to another.
The Guide (the Thesis in Motion or TiM Guide©) is open for all to access. It is the result of Anne’s cumulative experience as a thesis supervisor and mentor, both in Canada and abroad. If you would like to know why theses are set up the way they are and therefore how to tackle them, how they are evaluated, and what you need to do to be successful in planning, preparing and defending yours, this Guide is for you. Check the “Who is Thesis in Motion” tab for a description of Anne’s background.
